Diaspore
having a chemical formula Al2O3H2O
is beta monohydrate aluminum. It is chiefly used in making
high alumina refractory material, by itself or by bonding
with flint or plastic clay according to aluminum content needed
in the finished product. It is also used as a fuller in pesticide
industry.
Therefore
is no BIS specification prescribed for diaspore. The sub-Committee
on refractory raw materials of the DGTD in their report
August 1985 has stipulated the following two grades of diaspore
for utilization refractory industry.
